Ukraine recognizes Great Wall as sponsors of the war

The National Agency for Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) has included the Chinese car manufacturer Great Wall in the list of international sponsors of the war. This is the first case when an automaker has been included in the list of international sponsors of the war. This is due to the fact that Great Wall not only does not intend to leave the Russian market but also plans to expand its presence. In particular, in 2022, the concern presented its new brand Tank in Russia. Great Wall’s board secretary Xue Hui announced investments of 3 billion yuan ($472 million) in the Russian market. Currently, Russia is the largest export market for Great Wall vehicles. In the conditions of the withdrawal from the market of leading global automakers, the Chinese concern is increasing its sales, and its net profit for 2022 amounted to $340 million. There are 115 Great Wall dealerships operating in Russia. In addition, the Great Wall enterprise in Tula has been in operation since 2019. At the moment, the assembly of Haval Jolion, F7, F7x crossovers, and the frame SUV H9 is established there. The concern continues to pay taxes to the aggressor country’s budget and has never condemned the invasion of Ukraine. Great Wall is the eighth largest Chinese automaker. The concern produces vehicles under the brands Great Wall, Haval, Wey, Tank, and ORA.
