A unique car was filmed on a tow truck in Kyiv. It is one of the most expensive cars in Ukraine and one of the rarest Porsches. Only 1270 units of the Porsche Carrera GT model were produced, most of which ended up in the collections of millionaires, sheikhs, and of course Ukrainian deputies. In the early 2000s, you could buy such a Porsche for half a million euros, but the manufacturer selectively sold them. Not everyone who had the necessary amount was worthy of becoming the owner of a collectible masterpiece. Therefore, in 2023, it is almost impossible to find a Porsche Carrera GT cheaper than $1.5 million! At least three times more expensive than the original price. Almost 15 years ago, there were three such cars in our country. One, the gray Carrera GT, belonged to Igor Tarasyuk, a multimillionaire who was once called Yushchenko’s chief of staff. More precisely, likely belonged. This particular specimen adorned the capital’s car showroom in 2019 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Porsche in Ukraine. The second specimen – a red Porsche Carrera GT. As TopGear knows, this car with a difficult fate (and a difficult owner) was completely wrecked near Kyiv. It was then repaired for a long time and eventually sold abroad. The third Carrera GT, probably the most famous in our region. It belonged to (and still belongs to) the son of the former mayor of Kyiv, Stepan Chernovetsky. He even took his favorite yellow Porsche to Spain, where Stepan lived for a certain period when he needed to “disappear”… But 3 years ago, the son of the controversial mayor brought the Carrera GT back to Ukraine, where, as in the good old days, it shone with the same family numbers 2277. Although the Porsche spotted in Kyiv is not yellow at all, our colleagues from the Super Cars Ukraine page are confident that it is the same ‘yellow’ Chernovetsky car, but it has been wrapped in film or repainted. Nonetheless, it is heartening that the rare Porsche is still in Ukraine. And if this is a new specimen in Ukraine, then it’s truly fantastic, considering the current realities. It is also worth mentioning that there is also a Porsche 918 Spyder of Stepan Chernovetsky, its value reaching 1 million euros! For reference: The 2003 Porsche Carrera GT is a truly legendary model, as it is the brand’s first true supercar in many years. It is equipped with an atypical 5.5-liter V10 for Porsche, which was created for a Le Mans prototype. The engine produces 612 hp and works in tandem with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Porsche supercar accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and can reach 330 km/h. The Porsche Carrera GT was developed by rally ace Walter Röhrl. It should be noted that the car held the lap record at the Nürburgring for a long time.
