Interesting story about the iconic sports car Toyota Supra from Chernivtsi (video) en

This is about a now collectible model that was produced in 1993. Until recently, only a few examples of the iconic Supra have been spotted in Ukraine, but it turns out there is another car that very rarely appeared in public, but has been registered for quite some time.

According to TopGir, this 1999 model was registered in 2021. However, there is information that it was registered even earlier! This is evidenced by earlier photos, which allegedly were taken in the mid-2000s.

As you can see, the car has Odessa license plates, although it seems strange that they are of a relatively new design (for those years), so it cannot be ruled out that this Toyota Supra was registered later. However, it has been ‘living’ in Chernivtsi for over 10 years.

And although not many people have seen this car in person, there are photos of this Supra dating back to 2011. Back then, the Chernivtsi Supra appeared at a car audio and tuning exhibition in Chernivtsi.

If you look at old photos, you can see a resemblance to the star of the movie Toyota Supra from Fast & Furious. Look at the details and more – everything was done according to the trends of those times and, of course, with an eye on the Fast & Furious craze.

By the way, this generation of Supra was referred to as A80. There were two engines: 3.0 twin-turbo (2JZ-GTE) and naturally aspirated (2JZ-GE). The first option had a power output of 280 horsepower (for Japan), 324 horsepower (North American variant), or 330 horsepower (European market). As for the naturally aspirated engine, its power was 225 hp. The transmission was a 6-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. The body style was coupe or targa.

Incidentally, another iconic sports car from Fast & Furious was recently put up for sale in Ukraine – Nissan Skyline GT-R.
