In the 1960s, this car was called a pursuit car. The thing is that at first glance, the usual Volga (GAZ-23) actually has a 5.5-liter (!) engine from Chaika under the hood. Similar cars were used by the KGB and other special services of those times. And although today the acceleration to a hundred of this Volga is not impressive (16 seconds), at that time, this indicator was almost sports car-like (by the standards of the USSR, of course). The seller of the Volga pursuit car writes that there are currently 19 such cars in the world. This car comes with the original automatic transmission and original eight-cylinder engine. This car, according to the owner, has an unusual fate – even its color, dark blue with a purple hue, is unusual: it was absent in the factory palette, but, nevertheless, the car was painted in this color from the conveyor belt from the very beginning. This Volga was released in 1962, it still has a transitional body to the third series. The car did not work in special services – for its first twenty years of life it was in Zelenograd (space town) as a courier, which is confirmed by the state number 54-87 YUBA, which was on the car at the time of purchase (archive certificate). The seller wants $136,000 for this unique car. Let’s note that this same GAZ 23 pursuit car was sold before the war (in 2019) for $140,000. It is also worth mentioning that in Ukraine (in Crimea) there is a GAZ-24 KGB which in 2021 was sold for the same $40,000.
