In Ukraine, a Rare Opel Kadett Convertible by Bertone Was Found Abandoned (Photo)

This Opel Kadett Cabrio by Bertone can be considered a rarity. According to Ivan Pytel (who published the photos of the discovery), the car had been in the hands of one family since 2008. Unfortunately, the current condition of the Kadett is, to put it mildly, deplorable: the interior is neglected, and the body is partially corroded.

However, there is good news—the car will be part of a project, meaning this Bertone will return to the roads, but as a work of art on wheels rather than scrap metal.

It is worth noting that the Opel Kadett Cabrio by Bertone was produced from 1987 to 1993 based on the Kadett E. The design and assembly were handled by the Italian atelier Gruppo Bertone—they were responsible for cutting the roof, reinforcing the body, and installing the folding soft top. The cars were equipped with gasoline engines ranging from 1.3 to 2.0 liters, including the popular 1.6i and 2.0 GSi.

By the way, the Kadett Cabrio was often equipped with the best configurations available at the time—from power windows to air conditioning, features that were absent in the base hardtop versions.
