Acura discontinues AcuraLink support for older models
Acura has announced the discontinuation of the AcuraLink service for a range of its models, starting July 21, 2025. This decision affects vehicles manufactured between 2014 and 2022, including the flagship NSX model. The manufacturer did not specify the reasons for this move.
AcuraLink provided owners with access to features such as remote control, diagnostics, maintenance reminders, and emergency calls. After the service is discontinued, users will lose the ability to use these services, and the AcuraLink app will be updated, no longer supporting the specified models.
Which features will disappear?
Among the main capabilities that will become unavailable:
Owners with an active subscription after the discontinuation date will receive compensation for the unused period. Refunds are expected to be processed by August 4, 2025.
Starting June 18, 2025, it will be impossible to renew or subscribe to AcuraLink for the specified models. While the decision may be justified from a technical or financial standpoint, it has caused dissatisfaction among owners who are losing functionality they relied on when purchasing their vehicles.
This situation raises questions about the long-term support of digital services in modern vehicles. Drivers should consider that technologies that seem integral to cars today may become unavailable in just a few years. Manufacturers, in turn, should communicate their software support plans more clearly, especially for premium models.
