Sharp Decline in Jaguar Sales in Europe
Sales of Jaguar cars in Europe fell by over 97% after production ceased. However, this sharp decline is part of the company’s planned strategy to transition to exclusively manufacturing electric vehicles.
If you have recently visited a Jaguar dealership, you might have noticed that the selection of new cars has significantly shrunk. Many dealers have fewer than 10 cars in stock, and some have no new models at all. This led to a significant drop in sales in April and May 2025.
Planned Pause
Although the numbers look catastrophic, the situation is under control. Jaguar deliberately ceased production of traditional cars at the end of 2024 to prepare for the launch of its new electric lineup.
Consumer research showed that 20% more people consider Jaguar a brand “worth paying more for,” and another 23% have become more aware of its existence
First Positive Signals
Despite the low sales figures, there are optimistic points as well. During an investor day, the company reported a 110% increase in traffic on its official website in November-December 2024. Furthermore, research showed an increase in brand awareness among consumers.
Currently, Jaguar is undergoing a strategic pause, not a crisis. The brand’s true success will be determined after its full-fledged entry into the market with a new electric lineup and a higher pricing policy. This could mark the beginning of a new chapter for the legendary automaker.
The transition to electric models has become a challenge for many traditional automakers. Jaguar is making a bold bet by completely changing its product lineup, which could bring both significant rewards and risks in the competitive premium electric vehicle market.
