Is Musk beginning to feel the consequences of his outspoken political statements – from supporting Trump to promoting far-right forces in Germany? If so, he isn’t showing it, but it’s hard to imagine he is pleased with the growing public pressure that is starting to affect Tesla – the main source of his wealth.
Tesla car sales have sharply declined in key markets this year, coinciding with increased criticism and protests against the company. The most vivid response was the act of a 98-year-old British veteran named Ken, who accused Musk of spreading fascist ideas and decided to express his position in a very demonstrative way.
In a published video, the veteran states that he remembers fascism firsthand and sees its revival: “Elon Musk is using his influence to support the far-right in Europe, and his wealth is earned from Tesla sales.”
To emphasize his point, Ken drove a Sherman tank (which was used during World War II) over a blue Model 3. The electric car’s rear license plate had the word “Fascism” written on it. In a matter of seconds, the combat vehicle easily crushed the car’s hood, roof, and trunk.
Even considering the Model 3’s high safety rating, no crash tests prepared it for an encounter with a tank. This action is dramatic, symbolic, and purposeful. As the veteran himself said: “We have defeated fascism before and we will do it again.”
