Cybertruck Owner Reported that the Front Steel Panel Came Off
- Cybertruck owners report panels that unexpectedly came off,
- Some buyers claim Tesla is delaying deliveries for additional checks
- Although this is not part of a Tesla trim recall, it may be related to a similar defect.
In certain respects, the Cybertruck is a marvel of engineering, but in others, it has quite a few defects. Some owners are now reporting a previously unseen issue: the front panel of their truck might simply be falling off. And no, it’s not because some mischievous gremlins decided to disappear – it’s because, apparently, the panels aren’t sticky enough.
This isn’t the first time a panel has decided to make a dramatic exit from the Cybertruck. In fact, the boomerang-shaped panel above the door has a habit of detaching, which led Tesla to recall every Cybertruck to apply more aggressive adhesive, along with a spike and nut, to keep everything in place. Currently, what’s surprising is that the front panel is also coming off in some owners’ trucks.

One owner took to TikTok to document the condition of their truck. After leaving it for some time, they returned to find that the panel was only held on by the driver’s side. The rest of the panel was bent and completely detached from the truck, leaving the front bumper panel virtually completely exposed.
Buy a pack of glue, – said the owner with a sarcastic undertone. Well, we believe that was sarcastic. It wouldn’t be the strangest fix for a problem we’ve heard. Actually, it seems these panel problems are the cause of many owners’ complaints about delivery delays. Tesla just announced a full-scale recall of all Cybertrucks due to panels that are coming off.
After one buyer reported the situation, several others also appeared with similar stories. “My message says “factory hold that must be addressed with our service team before delivery,”” – said one. “I was told that “containment does not have a correction at this time (recall),” and that 1-2 weeks is the general timeframe,” – said another.
Their complaints come from various places. Some are in South Carolina, others in California, and at least one says they have this issue in .
Obviously, this is a widespread problem, even if it’s not the same for all trucks. Hopefully, Tesla will resolve this situation. It’s hard to call this truck Mars-ready… or even Earth-ready, when panels are just flying off by themselves.
