Mazda Owner Complains of Unbearable Brake Squeal That Threatens His Safety

Brake Problems on the Mazda CX-90 Lead to Lawsuit

A owner of a new 2024 Mazda CX-90 in the USA has filed a lawsuit against the company due to persistent brake problems. The driver complained of a high-frequency squeal that could not be eliminated after numerous visits to the dealer. Mazda technicians attempted to resolve the issue in various ways, including grinding the brake pads and applying special solutions, but the effect was only temporary.

According to the plaintiff, Daniel Green, the brakes not only made noise but also began to “shake,” forcing him to adjust his speed due to the vehicle’s dangerous behavior. Mazda has issued a service bulletin noting problems with noise, vibration, and brake drag for a range of models, including the Mazda3, CX-5, CX-50, and others.

The plaintiff claims he was forced “to adjust his speed and braking solely due to the dangerous operation of the brake system.”

Is the Problem Systemic?

The Mazda service bulletin indicates that similar complaints are being received for other models of the brand. This may point to a broader issue with the quality of brake components or their interaction with other vehicle systems. Although dealers offer temporary solutions, owners are waiting for official recognition of the problem and its final elimination.

For many drivers, brake squeal is not just a discomfort, but a signal of potential risks. In the case of the CX-90, the situation is complicated by the fact that it is Mazda’s new flagship model, which is supposed to represent the company’s best technologies. Such incidents can affect consumer trust in the brand, especially among those who were planning to purchase this vehicle.
