Owner Spent on Options an Amount Worth a New Ferrari, Only to Part with Aston Martin After Just 60 Miles

Unique Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider at Auction

Another Aston Martin Valkyrie is going up for auction, this time finished in a beautiful purple color, making it stand out even among the rarest hypercars. It is expected to sell for up to $4.1 million.

Like several other Valkyries that have recently changed hands, this car has been barely used—it has only 97 km (60 miles) on the odometer. This means the previous owner spent more time looking at the car than driving it.

The Valkyrie Spider is significantly rarer than the coupe. While the hardtop version was limited to 150 units, Aston Martin produced only 85 examples of the Spider.

This specific car, number 39, was ordered by Argentine businessman Alejandro Remmers, whose impressive garage has at various times included a Pagani Zonda Cinque, Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, and Bugatti Centodieci.

Custom Options and Their Cost

When creating his dream Valkyrie, Remmers paid £25,000 for the Storm Purple Gloss paint with Trophy Silver accents. However, this was just the beginning.

The hypercar also features exposed carbon fiber on the roof panels, engine cover, wiper arm, and large sections of the underbody. Remmers paid £45,000 for the carbon fiber, and another £40,000 for the matte black aluminum wheels.

The car’s interior is trimmed in luxurious Phantom Grey Alcantara and also features numerous exposed carbon fiber details. The Interior Hardware Pack, which includes silver anodized steering wheel switches, was additionally paid for.

The total cost of the additional options amounted to £237,500. This exceeds the starting price of a new Ferrari Amalfi, which is around $280,000, and is not far from the cost of a $350,000 Ferrari 296 GTB. This confirms that even options in this segment can cost as much as an entire supercar.

The Valkyrie Market and Their Technical Features

Valkyries are known for their performance, but also for their complexity. Reports of electrical issues and demanding maintenance schedules have become part of the ownership story for these cars.

Earlier this month, a Valkyrie Coupe previously owned by former Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo was sold at a Broad Arrow auction for €2.28 million, or $2.66 million.

This purple Valkyrie Spider is one of the most unique examples of the model, making it particularly valuable to collectors. Its sale could set a new benchmark for future Aston Martin hypercar transactions.
