A new car, especially from the luxury segment, typically loses value rapidly as soon as it leaves the dealership. However, some models go against this trend and not only retain but also increase in price. A prime example is the Mercedes-AMG G63.
Record Sale of a Nearly New SUV
A nearly new 2026 Mercedes-AMG G63 was sold at the Cars & Bids auction. The SUV, with only 350 miles on the odometer, found a new owner just a month after its purchase. Its initial MSRP was $216,385, significantly higher than the base price of $195,550 due to additional equipment:
Auction Bidding and Final Deal
High demand for well-equipped G63s, which are hard to find at dealerships without a significant markup, ensured active bidding. The highest bid at the auction reached $227,000, but this amount did not meet the seller’s reserve price. After negotiations, a deal was still reached.
After some negotiations between the seller and the buyer, the AMG SUV was eventually sold for $245,000.
Thus, the former owner earned $28,615 on a car he barely had time to practice driving.

Why This Particular Car?
The high final price was undoubtedly influenced by the versatile Polar White body color and the luxurious interior. The cabin is finished in Manufaktur Red Pepper leather with black accents, red stitching, and numerous carbon fiber elements.
Long-Term Value Perspective
Despite the current record, the value of this G63, like any other car, will begin to decline over time. The market already offers five-year-old Mercedes-AMG G63 models priced from $100,000 to $150,000. This suggests that in five years, this SUV will also be valued in a similar range.
This case illustrates the dynamics of the exclusive car market, where initial rarity, high specifications, and emotional demand can temporarily create a “hot ticket” effect. However, for most owners, the G63 remains not so much an investment as a powerful status symbol and an object of automotive pleasure, the value of which over time still succumbs to the general laws of wear and the model’s obsolescence.
