Ford announces massive recalls due to safety issues
Ford has issued a series of recalls affecting thousands of vehicles due to various technical issues, including fire risks. Among the models subject to recall are the Lincoln Corsair, Nautilus, as well as the Ford Bronco Sport, Escape, and Maverick. Additionally, deficiencies were found in the previous recall of F-150 Lightning electric pickups, which now require further repairs.
The first recall involves 1,797 vehicles that were improperly repaired during the previous campaign. In these vehicles, particularly hybrids and plug-in hybrids with 2.5L engines, oil and fuel leaks may occur, potentially leading to ignition. Owners are advised to immediately stop the engine if unusual noises or smoke appear.
Additional issues with heaters and software
Another series of recalls affects 6,781 vehicles with 1.5L or 2.0L engines equipped with block heaters. It was discovered that when plugged in, the heater may overheat. Although no fires have been reported, dealers will replace faulty components.
Software issues were also identified in 30,679 SUVs from the 2024 model year, causing malfunctions in panoramic displays and multimedia systems. Fixes are possible via over-the-air updates.
Recently, Ford has faced a series of technical issues affecting various models. While the company responds promptly to incidents, some owners must wait for final repair decisions, especially in cases involving serious engine defects. This may impact consumer trust, particularly after repeated recalls.
