US Car Owners Outraged: Updated Hyundai Venue Knight Edition Costs $10,000

Hyundai Venue Knight Edition: Stylish “Dark Knight” for Half the Price

Hyundai has introduced in India a special version of the Venue called the Knight Edition. This model features an aggressive, fully blacked-out design, giving it a stealth look. Most interestingly, this special edition costs roughly half as much as the previous generation Venue currently sold in the US.

Second Generation: Bigger, More Modern, and More Technological

This SUV is based on the second-generation Venue, which debuted in India in late 2025. Compared to its predecessor, the new model boasts a more “cubic” and brutal design: a sculpted body, vertical front end, and modern LED headlights. Additionally, it is taller and wider than the US version, and also has a slightly longer wheelbase.

Exterior and Interior: Black Color Throughout

The Knight Edition can be identified by its black finish on the radiator grille, protective cladding, roof rails, mirror caps, and 16-inch alloy wheels. It also features matte black Hyundai emblems and red brake calipers, adding a sporty touch, although it lacks the sharper body kit found on the Venue N Line.

The black theme continues inside the cabin: the seats feature exclusive eco-leather upholstery. To avoid monotony, Hyundai designers added a few “brass” colored inserts on the dashboard and steering wheel.

Technology and Features: A Step Forward

The Knight Edition is available in several trims. The dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays of the second-generation Venue make the 8-inch touchscreen of the US counterpart seem outdated. Among other available options are: a 360-degree camera, a dashcam, a sunroof, reclining rear seats, sunshades for rear passengers, and a premium Bose audio system with eight speakers.

Powertrains: A Choice Without Electrification

Under the hood, buyers are offered three engine options, all without electrification. The base naturally aspirated 1.2-liter petrol engine produces 82 hp, the turbocharged 1.0-liter petrol engine produces 118 hp, and the 1.5-liter diesel produces 114 hp. For comparison, the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine of the US version Venue has a power output of 121 hp.

Price: A Stunning Difference

The 2026 Hyundai Venue Knight Edition can be ordered in India at a price starting from 9.70 lakh rupees (approximately $10,400). This is almost half the starting price of the Venue on the US market, which is $20,550, where the model still remains in the first generation.

Even the top trim of the Knight Edition costs 14.79 lakh rupees ($15,840). The most expensive version of the Venue in India is the sporty N Line, whose price reaches 15.48 lakh rupees ($16,500).

Such a significant price difference between the Indian and American markets is likely to cause dissatisfaction among US buyers, who receive an outdated model at double the cost. The Indian market, on the contrary, receives not only the new generation with a more modern design and technology, but also a special stylish version at a very attractive price. This highlights Hyundai’s different strategies for different regions, where India acts as a priority market for compact and affordable cars.
