Attention to drivers: snow and stormy wind are approaching

It looks like winter is finally coming to Ukraine. As reported by Ukrhydrometeorological Center, today, January 29, moderate snowfalls are expected, and on January 31 – heavy snow and blizzards (in Transcarpathia – heavy rain with wet snow). In some places, 20-30 cm of snow will fall, and the roads will be icy.

In the western, northern regions, as well as in the Poltava and Kharkiv regions, wet snow is predicted, with the formation of an unstable snow cover 3-10 cm high, and local accumulation of wet snow.

On January 29-30, gusts of wind of 15-20 m/s are expected in Ukraine. The complication of weather conditions corresponds to level I of danger and can disrupt transportation on the roads. In the Carpathians, road traffic may stop in certain areas.

In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, on the morning of January 29, there is a thick fog with a visibility of 200-500 m.
