Driver Damages Ford SUV in Fresh Concrete and Receives Appropriate Bill

Ford Bronco Sport Driver Drives Over Fresh Concrete

Michigan has some of the worst roads in the USA, but not due to a lack of repairs. On the contrary—the situation is complicated by incidents like this one. The driver, who was operating a Ford Bronco Sport, drove over fresh concrete that had not yet hardened.

The video shows the car driving off the paved section and submerging its wheels in the concrete mixture. The woman managed to drive out on her own, but the consequences were obvious—the wheels and part of the body were completely covered in concrete. She likely had to wash the car immediately to avoid serious damage.

Representatives from the Oakland County Road Commission ironically noted: “This is reason #1201 why repairs are delayed!”

The incident occurred in Southfield, where a large-scale $5.1 million road repair is underway. Over 23,000 vehicles travel this route daily, so construction workers hope to complete the work by the end of summer—provided that no more drivers repeat similar mistakes.

Although no one was injured, such carelessness could have been costly—both for the driver herself and for the repair budget. The concrete could have damaged the braking system and suspension, as well as caused additional costs for restoring the pavement.
