Truck driver receives another warning about low clearance

Truck carrying wind turbine gets stuck under bridge in Queensland

A truck driver transporting part of a wind turbine found himself in a difficult situation when his vehicle got stuck under a bridge in Queensland, near Brisbane. The incident occurred overnight on April 16, forcing authorities to close one lane on the busy highway.

According to police, the driver likely did not follow the escort vehicles that were supposed to guide him through a special exit before the bridge. Engineers arrived at the scene, and it took 12 hours to free the turbine. However, the consequences of the accident were severe:

Fortunately, no one was injured, although the driver, a man around 50 years old, was taken to the hospital for examination. The incident occurred on Warrego Highway, one of the region’s main transport arteries, which only added to the problems due to heavy traffic.

Similar incidents involving oversized cargo transportation are not uncommon, but this case is particularly notable due to the scale of the damage and the duration of the consequences. Local residents are already facing significant inconveniences due to the partial closure of the highway, and recovery efforts require time and resources.
