The fact is that in a number of localities in France, a curfew has been imposed due to the coronavirus. Fines of several thousand euros are enforced for violating it. So the Frenchman was in a hurry to get home before the curfew began.
Yes, he didn’t pay the fine for that, but now both he and the car are under arrest, as the permitted speed in that place is 130 km/h. And, undoubtedly, the court will issue another fine – for speeding.
