Porsche driver fined $2,700 in California

While a speed of 269 km/h is a common thing for a Porsche on the Autobahn, in California this figure caused shock. It is especially impressive that the Panamera driver ignored the limit, doubling the permitted maximum.

As reported by the California Highway Patrol, on April 29 at 7:00 PM, a patrol officer recorded a car traveling at an incredible speed. In an area with a 113 km/h limit, the driver accelerated to 269 km/h.

Law enforcement representatives called such driving “an invitation to disaster” and stopped the violator. The man was issued a ticket for extreme speeding and for not having an insurance policy.

Police emphasized that there are no valid reasons for driving at speeds over 160 km/h (100 mph), as it directly threatens lives. Fortunately, this incident resulted in no casualties.

According to local law, such a violation carries a fine of up to $1,000, two penalty points, and a possible one-month license suspension. The lack of insurance can cost another $500 and the driver’s license.

However, in this case, the fine exceeded $2,700, which may indicate additional violations. Although, given the car’s brand, there are no doubts about the driver’s solvency.
