Hyundai Drivers Complain About Uncontrolled Sliding of SUV on Rough Roads and Braking Problems

Brake Problems in Hyundai Palisade: Filing of a Class Action Lawsuit

A class action lawsuit has been filed in the United States against Hyundai over potential problems with the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and traction control system in the 2023–2025 Palisade model. Three plaintiffs claim that on uneven or rough roads, the vehicle may slide and the brakes may engage with a delay.

Lawsuit Details

The complaint was filed in the California District Court. It states that the ABS may incorrectly read wheel speed on uneven surfaces, leading to unpredictable braking. One driver said:

“I was driving at a speed of 8 km/h, hit a small bump, and the ABS activated in such a way that the car almost didn’t brake. Only the emergency system prevented a collision.”

The Hyundai Palisade is one of the brand’s most popular models in the US, but complaints about the braking system have been appearing since 2023. Plaintiffs from New York and Ohio are demanding compensation and damages. The manufacturer has not yet issued an official comment.

This situation could affect the model’s reputation, especially given its sales – over 44,500 Palisades were sold in the US in the first five months of 2024. If the problems are confirmed, Hyundai could face significant financial and reputational consequences. For now, owners should be cautious when braking on uneven road sections.
