The Jaguar E-Type is considered one of the most beautiful cars in history, but ECD Automotive Design decided to go further. A special specimen named the Bridgewater Commission was created for a client of the company. The body panels were crafted by British masters in a style that combines influences from the original E-Type and the sporty D-Type.
Technical Updates
The car is built on an E-Type Series II chassis but has undergone significant changes. The V12 engine was completely reworked and now produces over 400 horsepower. The updated suspension allows for ride height adjustment, and the braking system received powerful six-piston calipers at the front.
“This is the Jaguar GTO that never was, but always should have existed,” noted ECD CEO Scott Wallace.
Elegance and Technology
The interior retained its classic style but became more luxurious. Premium materials were used, and modern features, such as Bluetooth audio, are carefully hidden so as not to disrupt the retro atmosphere. The body color – metallic British Racing Green – emphasizes the car’s sporting character.
The Bridgewater Commission project demonstrates how classic design can be combined with modern technology without losing the spirit of the original. This is not just a restoration, but a true reimagining of an automotive icon that opens new horizons for collectors and brand enthusiasts.
