The Slovak company Klein Vision announced the receipt of a certificate of airworthiness from the national transport administration. This means that the AirCar will become the first flying car that can be operated!
“AirCar’s certification opens the door to the mass production of highly efficient flying cars. This is an official and final confirmation of our ability to forever change medium-distance travel. AirCar expands these boundaries, leading us into a new dimension where the road meets the sky,” said inventor, group leader of developers, and test pilot Stefan Klein.
Features of the AirCar
- Transformable body: the wings supporting the AirCar in the air can fold and align along the sides, and the massive tail for ground movement retracts into the rear of the car
- In flight mode, the AirCar is powered by a single pusher propeller located between the body and tailplane: as can be judged from official video materials, it does not fold.
- The AirCar has a 1.6-liter 140 hp BMW gasoline engine.
- The maximum speed of the aerocar (in the air) is 300 km/h
- Range in the air – up to 1000 kilometers
You cannot buy the AirCar yet, but developers intend to start organizing mass production this year. The price of the flying car will be about 1.5 million euros, although at the very beginning the company was aiming at 200 thousand euros…
