Images and details of the new Hyundai Ioniq 3 have appeared online
The official presentation of the new compact Hyundai Ioniq 3 electric car is scheduled to take place in Milan in just a few hours, however, the internet is already filled with its images and technical details. This stunt appears to be the result of an accidental information leak, which left little room for imagination regarding the exterior and interior of the future novelty.
Design and market positioning
The Ioniq 3 model is the serial embodiment of the Concept Three concept car presented last year. At first glance, the car resembles a hatchback, but the manufacturer itself classifies it as a subcompact crossover. In the Ioniq lineup, this model occupies the position of a junior partner, positioned below the Ioniq 5.
The asymmetric door configuration, similar to that of the concept and the Veloster model, has not been preserved. Instead, the production car received a conventional five-door layout, which is more practical for manufacturing and mass sales. The front end features split LED lighting, and the body looks more massive due to more powerful shapes and a significant amount of plastic cladding.

Sporty N Line version and technical specifications
The published photos show the top sporty N Line version. It is distinguished by more aggressive bumpers, an integrated diffuser, a rear spoiler, and exclusive alloy wheels. These elements, like the roof, A-pillars, sills, and wheel arch cladding, are finished in black.
Technically, the Hyundai Ioniq 3 is built on the 400-volt version of the E-GMP platform, which is also used by its sibling models, the Kia EV3 and EV4. Initially, the car will be available in two front-wheel-drive variants.
Future plans and possible hot version
For speed enthusiasts, the Hyundai N division is already considering the possibility of creating a “hot” hatchback based on the Ioniq 3. This idea is quite realistic, as the platform allows for the installation of a dual power unit with up to 288 hp, as already implemented in the Kia EV3. In addition to a more powerful engine, the potential Ioniq 3 N version could receive more aggressive design, unique chassis and electronics tuning, borrowing experience from the Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N models.
This story is still developing, and we are awaiting the official unveiling of the car, which should reveal all the details.
The appearance of the Ioniq 3 clearly demonstrates Hyundai’s strategy to fill all niches in the electric vehicle market. The model is set to become a more affordable entry ticket to the world of electric mobility, competing in the compact crossover segment. The success of models like the Kia EV3, on which it is technically based, indicates good potential. Plans for a sporty version from the N division look particularly interesting, which could attract the attention of a new, younger audience to the brand. The success of this model could significantly strengthen Hyundai’s position in Europe, where compact and subcompact cars enjoy stable demand.
