Exclusive Watch from TAG Heuer
This limited edition watch features a Grade 5 titanium case and yellow gold hands. Each piece impresses with a square case measuring 41 mm in diameter and weighs only 86 grams.
Inspired by Modern Hypercars
The TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph Air 1 was not created in collaboration with an automobile manufacturer, but according to the brand, it was inspired by modern hypercars. While the resemblance may not be obvious, it’s hard to deny that the new watch looks impressive. Its price is 150,000 Swiss francs or $124,000, making it a very expensive accessory.
Innovative Manufacturing Technologies
The chronograph is equipped with a lightweight Grade 5 titanium case manufactured using selective laser melting technology—an additive method used in the aerospace and automotive industries, similar to 3D printing. TAG Heuer engineers have created a watch that looks as if its cavity was carved out and weighs only 86 grams, despite the large 41 mm case size.
Technical Features and Design
The watch is equipped with the TH81-00 caliber from TAG Heuer. The case back features an interesting exoskeleton and a honeycomb-patterned grid inspired by the engine covers of various hypercars. There are also neat details in 2N yellow gold, a sapphire dial, and black sapphire crystals on the dial.
Uniqueness of the Model
According to the manufacturer, the Air 1 is one of the most technologically advanced watches ever created by the company, which undoubtedly explains its high cost. The square dial is a characteristic feature of the iconic Monaco line, and buyers will be pleased to learn that, unlike any hypercar in their garage, this chronograph provides water resistance up to 30 meters.
“The TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph Air 1 is a revolution in watchmaking. Thanks to SLM technology, watch engineers were able to realize the designers’ boldest ideas. The SLM manufacturing process, adapted by the TAG Heuer LAB, opens new horizons, rethinking the traditional laws of case design,” stated TAG Heuer CEO Antoine Pin.
Limited Edition
Despite the uniqueness of this chronograph, very few people will be able to own it, as only 30 pieces will be produced.
This watch demonstrates how traditional watchmaking combines with modern technologies such as 3D printing and lightweight materials, allowing the creation of products that are not only functional but also become objects of art. The limited edition makes it even more valuable for collectors seeking unique innovations in the world of luxury accessories.
