A Used Toyota Century SUV in Russia Costs More Than a Rolls-Royce
A used 2024 Toyota Century SUV with low mileage has been listed for sale in Russia. Its price exceeds the cost of similarly aged Rolls-Royce Cullinans. This hybrid SUV is the most luxurious vehicle Toyota has ever created.
The Century SUV is the closest Toyota comes to a Rolls-Royce Cullinan and represents the pinnacle of Japanese automotive luxury. In Japan, its price starts from ¥27,000,000 ($169,900), but one dealer in Russia, apparently disregarding the math, wants more than four times that for a nearly new example imported through the “gray” market.
Specifications and Features
This is a left-hand drive 2024 Century SUV with one owner and 2,100 km (1,300 miles) on the odometer. It features a full black exterior and rides on 22-inch alloy wheels with red brake calipers.
Inside, everything meets expectations for this segment: brown leather, alcantara headliner, and four individual seats instead of five. The rear seats come with a full array of functions: massage, ventilation, heating, powered footrests, screens, and more. Add a premium audio system, a glass roof, four-zone climate control, and a glass partition separating the passenger compartment from the luggage area. One thing it lacks is the rear privacy glass, which appeared in the 2025 model year update.
Technical Details
The Century SUV is based on Toyota’s TNGA-K platform and is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 plug-in hybrid powertrain producing a total of 406 hp (303 kW / 412 PS). Drive is sent through an e-CVT gearbox and Toyota’s E-Four Advanced all-wheel-drive system. A 21.3 kWh battery provides an all-electric range of up to 69 km (43 miles).
Price in Russia
The listing on Auto.ru, spotted by Daily Motor, was placed by the company Royal Motors in Moscow. Parallel imports remain a niche and profitable channel into Russia, and the dealer has priced this car accordingly. The asking price is 52,900,000 rubles, or approximately $748,700 at the current exchange rate.
This is 4.4 times more than Toyota asks for a Century SUV in Japan. It also exceeds the current market price of a used Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II on the Russian market. Whether someone in Moscow with a high income will write a check for the privilege of being seen in a Century is another question.
Interestingly, we found another listing for a left-hand drive 2025 Century SUV from the dealer AutoKing with a two-tone paint job and a lower price — 38,500,076 Russian rubles ($541,500). The cheapest Century-badged model in Russia is a classic first-generation sedan from 1982, currently offered for 6,500,000 Russian rubles ($91,400).
The situation surrounding this car demonstrates how geopolitical factors and import restrictions can radically influence pricing. Even for the wealthiest buyers accustomed to exclusivity, a price tag of over half a million dollars for a Toyota, albeit the most luxurious one, seems like a challenge to common sense. At the same time, the presence of alternative offers at a lower price suggests the market is still trying to find a balance between the demand for uniqueness and the car’s real value. The question remains whether this Century SUV will become a status symbol for those who want to stand out even among Rolls-Royce owners, or remain an interesting but unjustifiably expensive exhibit in a showroom.
