Jaguar Has Released Its Last Internal Combustion Engine Car, Which the Company Does Not Announce Directly

The End of an Era

Jaguar has ceased production of the F-Pace model at its Solihull plant. This event has two key features: it not only marks the end of production for this crossover, but the company has also rolled off the assembly line its last car with an internal combustion engine. This is a black F-Pace SVR, which symbolically closes an entire era in the brand’s history.

A Quiet Conversation About Something Important

Despite the importance of the moment, Jaguar itself did not deem it necessary to officially announce this with a press release or even a social media post. In fact, production ended on December 19th. Information about the event had to be disseminated by the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club, whose representatives were present at the farewell ceremony.

The Symbolism of Color and the Brand’s Future

The black color of the last car was chosen as a tribute to the last E-Type, which also once marked the end of a great era for Jaguar. However, this color is also associated with mourning, which may be a disheartening symbol for a brand whose controversial reboot strategy has so far not yielded clear results. The last assembled crossover was handed over to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust for preservation in its collection.

An Electric Future

Now that production of traditional models has ceased, all attention is focused on the future. Jaguar is preparing to launch a new electric GT car, the concept of which (Type 00) has already been presented. Initially, it was planned that the production model would debut at the end of this year, but the premiere has been postponed to 2026.

The company’s management states that order intake will begin shortly after the official unveiling, and deliveries to customers will commence fairly quickly. This car, costing over one hundred thousand dollars, will be built on Jaguar’s new electric architecture and will have a range of up to 430 miles. It is also expected that thanks to fast charging, up to 200 miles of range can be restored in 15 minutes.

Technical Prospects

Details of the powertrain are still limited, but according to previous reports, the car may receive a three-motor system with rear-wheel drive and approximately 1000 horsepower. If confirmed, the new model will become the most powerful road car in the brand’s history, which could be a worthy beginning for an entirely new chapter.

A Historic Day at Solihull: The Last F-PACE Rolls Off the Line. Not many moments can stop a factory in its tracks, but…

Jaguar’s transition to exclusively electric propulsion is part of the global transformation of the automotive industry. Abandoning internal combustion engines for such a historic brand, whose identity is closely tied to its characteristic sound and dynamics, is an especially risky step. The success of this strategy will depend not only on the technical characteristics of the new models but also on whether the company can carry over into the electric era the emotional component and the prestige for which generations of enthusiasts have valued it. The silence surrounding the end of production of the last gasoline-powered Jaguar may indicate both a desire to quickly turn the page and a certain uncertainty about the future.
