Mitsuoka Viewt Royal Edition: Retro Style and Modern Technology
Japanese automaker Mitsuoka has introduced a special version of its original Viewt car called the Royal Edition. This model continues the brand’s tradition of creating cars with unusual designs reminiscent of classic European automobiles. In this case, the inspiration was the 1963 Jaguar Mk2.
The Royal Edition is available in three exclusive colors: Royal Green, Royal Red, and Royal White. Although the overall outlines remained the same as the regular Viewt, the new version received chrome bumpers at the front and rear, as well as a special emblem. The interior is trimmed in Royal Brown artificial leather with subtle details like the Union Jack on the seats.
Technical Features
The car is built on the TNGA-B platform, so it shares the same technical solutions as the Toyota Yaris. Buyers are offered a choice of three engines: a 1.0-liter gasoline, a 1.5-liter gasoline, and a 1.5-liter hybrid. The version with the 1.0L engine has front-wheel drive and a continuously variable transmission (CVT), while the 1.5L is offered with a manual gearbox or CVT, with the option of choosing the drive type.
Orders for the Viewt Royal Edition are accepted until December 21st, with the exact number of cars in the series not disclosed. The pricing policy ranges from 3.85 million yen (approximately $26,300) to 5.1348 million yen (approximately $35,100) depending on the trim level.
Despite clear stylistic references to 1960s British automotive design, the Viewt Royal Edition remains a modern compact car with original character. The limited series and attention to detail make this model an interesting option for collectors and enthusiasts of unusual cars.
