How to see it: First Ferrari electric car unveiled — it looks toy-like (photo)

Ferrari Luce

Ferrari has officially unveiled its first production electric car — the Luce model. The newcomer features four electric motors, a five-seat cabin, and a body with rear hatchback doors, an atypical solution for the Maranello brand. Ferrari reports this.

The Luce is equipped with four electric motors with a combined output of 1035 hp. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 2.5 seconds. The electric car is built on an 800-volt architecture and features a battery with a capacity of 122 kWh.

Ferrari Luce gets an unusual design from the creators of the iPhone

The design of the Ferrari Luce was created by the LoveFrom studio, founded by Jony Ive and Marc Newson after working at Apple. Ive was previously responsible for the design of the iPhone and other company products.

The newcomer features a silhouette unusual for Ferrari, with a large glass profile, short overhangs, and massive wheels. 23-inch wheels are installed at the front, and 24-inch wheels at the rear. These are the largest wheels among all production road Ferraris.

The car has rear doors that open against the direction of travel, and the handles are integrated into the central body pillars. Ferrari states that the model should not be perceived as a replacement for gasoline supercars, but will become a separate direction for the brand’s development.

Inside the cabin, Ferrari has combined physical buttons and OLED displays. The steering wheel is made from recycled aluminum, and the instrument panel moves with it to keep information in the driver’s line of sight.

Available equipment includes massage seats, an audio system with 3000 W output and 21 speakers, and separate control of functions for rear passengers.

The weight of the Ferrari Luce is 2260 kg. The company claims that thanks to a low center of gravity, a torque vectoring system, and a special layout, the electric car handles like a vehicle approximately 400 kg lighter.

A separate sound system was also developed for the model. It uses the real vibrations of the electric motors, which are amplified by a specialized audio system.

Sales of the Ferrari Luce in Europe will start at the end of 2026. The base price will be approximately 520,000 euros or roughly 28 million UAH and over 600,000 USD.
