If you don’t like the Jaguar Type 00, this original model will pleasantly surprise you

Callum Design Studio presents an updated version of the Jaguar E-Type

Former Jaguar chief designer Ian Callum has unveiled a modern interpretation of the legendary Jaguar E-Type. The project currently exists only as digital renders, but the studio is ready to build a real car for customers. Key changes include LED lighting, hidden door handles, the absence of bumpers, and updated interior technologies.

“This is a combination of classic aesthetics with modern technology, highlighting the unparalleled beauty of the E-Type,” the project description states.

Details of the updated design

The car retains the original’s distinctive features, such as the long hood and sleek lines, but incorporates several modern elements. Instead of steel bumpers, there is a minimalist design inspired by the E-Type Lightweight. The wheels, inspired by classic “wire” rims, are larger and fitted with low-profile tires.

The interior combines retro style with modern technology: digital instruments, touch controls, red leather, and a wooden steering wheel. Although technical details have not been disclosed, the car is likely to feature a gasoline engine and a manual transmission.

Callum Studio already has experience in creating restomods, including the Aston Martin Vanquish 25. The updated E-Type is another example of how classic and modern technologies can be combined without losing the spirit of the original.
