LS36 – a German car with an American heart and Japanese obsession. This is the vision of Hikaru Taguchi, owner of Moontech in Gunma Prefecture (Japan). Taguchi-san and his team have built a number of really cool cars over the years and have won many exhibition awards during this time. LS36 is among them. What does LS36 have to do with it if this is a BMW E36 M3?

Let’s start with the fact that it was imported from the USA in early 2021. At that time, the engine replacement was already completed (the “Emka” received a 5.7-liter engine from the Chevrolet Corvette), but otherwise, the car looked stock. By the way, it is the engine that gave the project its name (from the engine marking LS1). The power of the Behemoth is 450 horsepower.

However, the Japanese, due to their mentality, decided that such a car could not remain stock. As a result, the car received a Ploom air suspension, AC Schnitzer Type-1 racing three-piece wheels (with staggered tires), and a concise but very harmonious body kit. The color – BMW Oxford Green, which was never a color of the E36 M3, but was used for the painting of the 5th and 8th series.
Inside… What can I say – it’s all very, very orange. Simply put, it’s just a pumpkin. And although the Japanese are very “eco-friendly,” all leather is natural and handmade.
In general, if there is a correct swap for the M3, and if there is a perfect M3 in the 36th body, then we think it looks exactly like this:
