Japanese Nissan Rogue Lookalike Looks Equally Ready to Confront Bears and BMW Cars

Nissan X-Trail Update for the Japanese Market

The Nissan X-Trail has received a mid-life cycle update in Japan three years after its debut. This mirrors the changes made to the American Rogue version but with the addition of market-specific trim levels. Among the key novelties are the Nismo versions, a more luxurious Autech, and the off-road Rock Creek.

Exterior and Technology

The updated SUV offers a new design, technologies, and trim levels aimed at attracting a wider range of buyers. The most noticeable changes concern the front end, complemented by fresh colors and wheel designs. The interior features an updated infotainment system with Google Built-in, improved materials, and additional cameras providing a 360-degree view along with the Invisible Hood View function.

Special Versions

The Japanese market receives an expanded selection of trim levels, including the adventure-oriented Rock Creek, which debuted in the US a year earlier. Additionally, the Sotoasobi package is available, which includes a matte black hood film, JAOS fender flares, and unique emblems. This package was also offered for the previous generation X-Trail.

Premium Autech Version

The Autech trim combines a sporty exterior with a more premium interior. Externally, it adds glossy bumper extensions, a unique radiator grille, and additional blue LEDs. The interior features quilted leather seats with Autech branding, dark wood accents on the dashboard, and blue stitching. Buyers can choose an additional Advanced or Sports Spec package for improved dynamics.

Prices and Availability

The updated Nissan X-Trail will go on sale in Japan from September 18. Prices start from ¥3,843,400 and go up to ¥5,962,000 depending on the trim. Special versions are priced as follows: Rock Creek — from ¥4,756,400, Autech — from ¥5,141,400, Nismo — from ¥5,416,400, and the additional Sotoasobi package adds ¥241,425.

This update highlights the growing competition in the SUV market, where manufacturers are trying to meet diverse customer needs through specialized versions. Offering variants such as sporty, premium, and off-road trims can significantly expand the model’s audience, especially in markets like Japan, where consumer tastes are very diverse.
