According to law enforcement, the driver of the bright orange BMW M5 initially evaded pursuit, but the car was found the next day. The police made a public post on social media, stating that such a car is impossible not to notice. The vehicle’s owner will now have to pay significant fines for storage in the impound lot.
Modesto Police noted on Instagram: “This car really stands out,” referring to the BMW’s bright orange color.
The fine for vehicle storage at the impound lot can range from $39 to $65 per day, which amounts to $1,170 to $1,950 over 30 days, not including additional penalties. This case shows how a car’s unusual appearance can lead to its quick discovery, unlike common models that easily blend into traffic.
Such incidents serve as an example of how social media and unconventional law enforcement methods yield results. While this approach does not always work with ordinary cars, in this case, the bright color was a decisive factor.
