A classic Mercedes-Benz S600 in the W140 body has been presented in an unusual format as a drift car. The project was created as a concept dedicated to reaching 600 thousand subscribers for the “Classic Driver” Instagram account, and its visualization was developed by designer Davide Virdis. And, yes, this is just a rendering. This is reported by “Classic Driver”.
Mercedes-Benz S600 W140 drift: a concept based on the V12 flagship
The project is based on the flagship sedan of the 1990s with a V12 engine, which was in serial production from 1991 to 1998. In the project, it was transformed into a drift car with a characteristic low stance, widened body, and styling inspired by Japanese bosozoku culture.
The design references the racing Mercedes-Benz “Red Pig,” but adapted for modern entertainment—night runs and controlled drifts in parking lots.
Mercedes-Benz S600 W140 tuning: an art project with a nod to the 90s
The key nuance is that this is not a real car, but merely a designer’s interpretation. The project was created in the style of the late 1990s as an idea of what the S600 could have been in the world of drifting.
The author has previously worked with the brand’s models, including creating an extreme version of the Mercedes 500 E. The new project continues this series, combining classic luxury with modern motorsport culture.
