It is equipped with a significantly more powerful 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine instead of the 5.7-liter unit that was in the previous R/T model. This modification occupies the niche between the GT Plus AWD Hemi version and the powerful SRT Hellcat, effectively replacing the old R/T model.
This makes the Durango R/T 392 the most powerful offering in its segment priced below $50,000.
Technical Specifications and Performance
The new engine produces 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. This represents a 32% increase in power and a 21% increase in torque compared to its predecessor. The vehicle also has the best-in-class maximum towing capacity – 8,700 pounds.
