Dutch company Aerfal Automotive has introduced its version of the legendary Porsche 904, which was produced in the 1960s. This restomod combines classic design with modern technologies and Porsche components.

Exterior and Interior
The car’s exterior maintains the proportions and elegant lines of the original mid-engine coupe but with some updates, such as radiator grilles, LED lighting, and classic alloy wheels. The doors open together with part of the roof, facilitating access to the two-seat cabin. The interior is executed in a minimalist style with retro touches, including analog instruments and a combination of leather and titanium.
Technical Details and Components
Since the original Porsche 904 chassis are extremely rare and expensive, Aerfal decided to use the more accessible Porsche 914 base. The chassis will be reinforced with the participation of Multimatic, and suspension and chassis tuning will be handled by Porsche specialist Tuthill. The project also uses components from brands such as Brembo, Michelin, and BBS.
Engine and Its Characteristics
The heart of the restomod will be a reworked version of the legendary flat-eight engine installed on original racing models. The engine will be expanded to 4.0 liters, and its development is likely being carried out with the involvement of Cosworth. According to Aerfal representatives, the goal was not to achieve maximum performance but to create an engine with a unique character, sound, and feel that connects the driver to Porsche’s racing heritage.
Future Plans
Currently, the project exists only in digital form, but the company plans to build a prototype and will soon begin accepting preliminary orders. Information regarding price, planned production volume, and timing of first deliveries has not yet been disclosed.
This project demonstrates how modern technologies allow reviving classic cars while preserving their spirit and adding new capabilities. The use of accessible components, such as the Porsche 914 chassis, makes the restomod more realistic for series production, and the participation of renowned specialists guarantees high quality and authenticity.
