The Italian sports sedan was seized at the internal customs post ‘Vinogradov’. According to the press service of the Transcarpathian region customs, a 34-year-old Ukrainian was importing the Maserati Ghibli in ‘import’ mode.
According to the purchase agreement he had, the sports car was acquired from a Ukrainian citizen, and the document itself was executed in the Czech city of Karlovy Vary and certified by a local notary.

As the press service writes on their Facebook page, “Upon detailed examination of the documents, inspectors raised doubts about their authenticity. To confirm or refute the fact of legalization of this contract, the officials of the department for combating smuggling and violations of customs rules of Transcarpathian customs sent a letter to the mentioned notary. The latter replied that he had not certified the purchase agreement. That is, the contract turned out to be a forgery.”

A protocol has been drawn up against the “owner” of the Maserati for violation of customs rules under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. This means he faces a fine of 100% of the value of the illegally imported car (the estimated price, according to customs officials, in this case exceeds 600 thousand hryvnias).
