Saleen is famous for its tuned Ford Mustangs and ultra-powerful supercars. However, after the company’s bankruptcy, it has been somewhat forgotten. Now, Saleen is being revived by new owners from China.
Interestingly, while the good old 1500 hp Saleen S7 will continue to be assembled in California, the production of the new S1 sports car, a city electric vehicle, and even a charged crossover, will be set up in China.
The Saleen MAC crossover will become one of the most powerful cars from China, excluding electric cars.
It will be equipped with a gasoline turbo engine producing 400 hp and a maximum torque of 450 Nm.
The car has a fairly restrained and unique design with LED headlights and a curved window line. Saleen MAC production will start in 2020, and more information about the crossover will be revealed closer to that time. One thing we can say for sure: it will become a more affordable alternative to the Audi SQ5 and BMW X3 M.
