Woman Faces Over 10 Years in Prison for Road Rage Incident Caught on Dashcam

Road Rage in Houston: Woman Threatened with a Weapon After a Traffic Accident

An unpleasant incident occurred in Houston when a minor traffic accident escalated into a serious conflict. A woman named Crystal Garcia, the driver who caused the crash, not only failed to assist the victim but also threatened him with a weapon.

The event took place on July 24 at the intersection of Westheimer Road and Post Oak Boulevard. Garcia, 33, collided with a Toyota Corolla while both cars were stopped at a traffic light. Instead of exchanging information to document the incident, the woman pulled out a revolver and asked the victim:

“Do you want to die or what?”

before fleeing the scene.

Video Evidence Was Key

The entire incident was recorded on the victim’s dashcam. This footage helped police identify the perpetrator. As it turned out, Garcia already had a criminal history – about 20 charges, although many of them had been dropped.

The woman is now charged with assault with a deadly weapon, which is a second-degree felony in Texas. She is being held on a $40,000 bond, and if found guilty, she faces over 10 years in prison.

This case once again highlights the importance of dashcams in modern conditions. Without the recording, identifying the perpetrator would have been much more difficult. Fortunately, no one was physically injured in this situation, but the psychological consequences could be long-lasting for both parties. The Houston Police Department emphasizes the need to remain calm in such situations and immediately report threatening actions by other road users.
