A 21-year-old woman was arrested after performing donuts in a Ford Mustang. Police claim she attempted to hit two officers on motorcycles. A PIT maneuver and a Taser were used to stop and apprehend the suspect.
Chronology of Events
Unfortunately, fleeing from the police has become a fairly common occurrence. However, it is much rarer for a 21-year-old to flee after performing donuts in the middle of the street at 9:15 in the morning. This is exactly what, according to police, Rain Barbosa did on Thursday.
She also received several charges for allegedly attempting to hit two police officers on motorcycles. Her escape was stopped using a PIT maneuver.
According to Fresno police, the incident occurred just after 9 a.m. on Thursday when they learned of a reckless driver in the area of the 2900 block of Hornet near Shields Ave. Arriving at the scene, they found the driver performing donuts in the middle of the road in a Ford Mustang.
Police report that they attempted to stop her, but instead she accelerated and in the process hit two parked cars. Then she allegedly attempted to hit two officers on motorcycles. This is classified as an assault with a deadly weapon. Shortly after the incident with the motorcycles, police intervened and used a PIT maneuver to end the pursuit.

Taser Use and Arrest
The struggle did not end, as Barbosa allegedly resisted and as a result felt the effect of a Taser. Officers took her into custody and charged her with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, reckless driving, obstructing officers, and failure to comply.

Although more attention is paid to nighttime events, this case stands out for its strangeness and audacity. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
