One of the main premieres of the Paris Motor Show was the BMW 3 Series 2019 sedan. The new BMW 3 Series will go on sale at the end of the year priced from $40,000.
Design of BMW 3 Series 2019
The new BMW 3 G20 has grown to 4709 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2851 mm. Moreover, the BMW sedan is 55 kg lighter than its predecessor due to the more extensive use of aluminum. By the way, the CLAR platform is shared with the larger BMW 5 and 7 Series.
The design has also acquired features of the larger brothers – elongated LED headlights and an enlarged kidney grille. The BMW 3 Series 2019 retains its familiar profile, but the sides have become less sculpted.
Interior and equipment of BMW 3 Series 2019
The main novelty in the interior is the virtual dashboard. As before, the central panel is angled toward the driver. The cabin has become more spacious, but the trunk remains at the previous level – 480 l.
All BMW 3 2019 models are equipped with a preventive braking system, and options include automatic parking pilot, laser headlights, and a semi-autonomous driving system.
Specifications of BMW 3 Series 2019
Initially, options will include 2.0-liter turbo petrol engines with 184 and 258 hp, as well as turbo diesels with a volume of 2.0 l (150 and 190 hp) and 3.0 l (265 hp).
Over time, the lineup will be expanded with the plug-in hybrid BMW 330e and the charged version BMW M340i xDrive with a 3.0-liter 374 hp turbo six and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.4 s. The new BMW M3 will have over 450 hp.
The BMW 3 Series 2019 can be equipped with a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission, rear or all-wheel drive. Options include adaptive dampers.
