by At the Frankfurt auto show, the new Volkswagen ID.3 was unveiled. The mass-market Volkswagen electric car will challenge the Tesla Model 3. 
The Volkswagen ID.3 2020 is comparable in size to the Golf, but has an unusually large wheelbase of 2765 mm. Visually, it doesn’t differ much from the pre-production concept and maintains a single-volume profile. 
The interior style is minimalist, featuring a virtual cockpit and a 10-inch touchscreen.
The basic version comes with 18-inch wheels, satellite navigation, heated seats and steering wheel. 
The top variant features matrix headlights, 20-inch wheels, a panoramic roof, adaptive cruise control, and an advanced augmented reality heads-up display. Three modifications of the Volkswagen ID.3 are offered. The basic Volkswagen electric car has a 147 hp motor and a 45 kWh battery, providing a range of 330 km. 
A more powerful 204 hp variant is equipped with a 58 kWh battery and can travel 420 km without recharging.
The top version with the same motor and a 77 kWh battery has a range of 550 km. In this case, 125 kW fast charging is supported. 
The Germans have already received over 30 thousand pre-orders for the Volkswagen ID.3. The Volkswagen electric car can be purchased at a price starting from 30 thousand euros.
