In the Czech Republic, the Skoda Octavia 2020 was officially presented. The fourth-generation liftback and estate will go on sale in Europe from January at a price starting from 20,000 euros.
The new Skoda Octavia has retained the platform of its predecessor but has become slightly larger – 4689 mm in length with an unchanged wheelbase of 2686 mm. The liftback and estate look familiar and resemble the Skoda Scala at the front. Among the innovations, it is worth noting the LED headlights already in the base version.
Inside, there is an unusual two-spoke steering wheel, improved virtual dashboard, and a touchscreen with a diagonal of up to 10 inches. In versions with the DSG robot, a small gear shift joystick similar to that of the VW Golf 8 also draws attention.
It features a head-up display and interior illumination with changeable colors; for the first time, a three-zone climate control system is offered. In the second row, legroom has been increased, and the trunk volume has grown to 600 liters in the liftback and 640 liters in the estate.
For the Skoda Octavia 2020, gasoline turbo engines will be offered, with displacements of 1.0 liters (110 hp), 1.5 liters (130 and 150 hp), and 2.0 liters (190 hp), as well as two-liter turbo diesel engines with 115, 150, and 200 hp.
For the first time, a 201 hp hybrid Skoda Octavia is available, capable of traveling 50 km in electric mode.
