Thief steals the same Toyota RAV4 twice from a dealership

Twice-stolen Toyota RAV4

In Atlanta, the same car—a Toyota RAV4—was stolen twice in one day from the Stone Mountain Toyota dealership. The owner, Yula Archi, had left it there for a battery issue repair but received a call from the police the next day: her car was found abandoned near the Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary.

Surveillance cameras captured a masked intruder calmly entering the service area through unlocked doors, taking the keys to the RAV4, and driving away. This happened twice in a row—after the car was returned to the dealer’s premises, the thief came back and stole it again. Yula was shocked:

“I still can’t believe it. Is this a dream? They let someone take my car twice”

.

Interestingly, the thief specifically targeted an older RAV4 model (2016–2018) even though newer cars were on the premises. The police expressed surprise:

“I’ve seen theft cases, but never such incompetence”

. The dealership is already under investigation due to numerous customer complaints, but management refuses to comment on the situation.

The incident raises questions about security at car dealerships—if keys are left in the open and doors remain unlocked, customers remain vulnerable. Yula Archi never received an apology or explanation, though her car, fortunately, was unharmed. This story may serve as a reminder to dealers about the need to strengthen security measures.
