General Motors is preparing to begin deliveries of the 2027 Corvette models, which has led to the replacement of the E-Ray version. Currently, Chevrolet dealers in the US have accumulated over 2,000 2026 model year vehicles, including the E-Ray and Z06. To stimulate sales, the company is offering a special discount, but only select customers will be able to take advantage of it.
Terms of the special offer
Chevrolet, seemingly aiming to clear out remaining inventory of the 2026 Corvette E-Ray and Z06, has quietly launched a $7,000 incentive covering both models. However, there is one catch: there are no guarantees you will be able to use it. The deal, officially named the “Corvette Targeted Private Offer,” appeared in a bulletin sent to Chevrolet dealers earlier this week. Details remain limited. The bulletin states the offer is available only to those customers who have received it, and it is unclear how exactly a buyer ends up on this list.
According to Cars Direct, the offer is valid only until July 7th and will likely take the form of a promo code or discount certificate. The incentive can be transferred to members of the same family. Most likely, the code will be sent via email or regular mail to lucky potential Corvette buyers across the country.
Reasons for the limitation and current inventory
It is unknown why the offer is limited to the E-Ray and Z06 models. A look at Chevrolet’s inventory shows that nearly 1,000 units of the 2026 Corvette E-Ray are currently available within a 2,000-mile radius of Beverly Hills, California. Inventory of the 2026 Corvette E-Ray models is even larger: at least 1,294 units are available within the same search radius.
Future of the model line
While the C8 Z06 remains in production for the 2027 model year, the same cannot be said for the E-Ray. As part of a major update to the Corvette lineup, the E-Ray has been replaced by the hybrid Grand Sport X, which uses a new 6.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 LS6 engine coupled with a front electric motor, delivering a total output of 721 hp.
Those interested in a slightly older 2025 Corvette can also achieve significant savings. In addition to the same targeted $7,000 discount for select customers, a $4,000 discount is also offered on 2025 models for current Camaro and Corvette owners, increasing potential savings to $11,000.
This move by Chevrolet indicates strategic inventory management ahead of the updated lineup’s release. Limiting the offer to “select” customers may be a marketing tactic to create a sense of exclusivity, although the accumulation of over 2,000 vehicles in stock points to a real need for sales stimulation. The replacement of the E-Ray with the more powerful hybrid Grand Sport X also underscores a shift in the company’s technological direction, where hybridization becomes not just an option but a key element for enhancing performance.
