Model Range and Specifications
Pricing Policy and Market Features
A few months after the presentation of the all-electric E5 Sportback in China under the new AUDI brand, the manufacturer confirmed the prices for the model. As is often the case with new electric vehicles in China, the E5 is offered at unexpectedly low prices, even by the standards of the local competitive market.
The concept is simple: combine German engineering and build quality with advanced technological features that have become the hallmark of Chinese automakers.

Detailed Overview of Modifications
Four different versions of the E5 are offered: Pioneer, Pioneer Plus, Pioneer Quattro, and Flagship Quattro. The price of the base Pioneer starts from 235,900 yuan or $32,800. This version has a rear electric motor with a power of 295 hp (220 kW) and a 76 kWh battery. The declared range is 384 miles (618 km) on the CLTC cycle.
Next is the Pioneer Plus model. It retains rear-wheel drive, but the power is increased to 402 hp (300 kW). A larger 100 kWh battery is also standard, increasing the price to 269,900 yuan ($37,500) and extending the range to 480 miles (773 km).
At the same price, the Pioneer Quattro is offered. It has a smaller 83 kWh battery but two motors that together produce 518 hp (386 kW) and provide 387 miles (623 km) on a single charge.
The Flagship Quattro model costs from 319,900 yuan ($44,500), which is still very reasonable. It has a 100 kWh battery, a range of 402 miles (647 km), and delivers an impressive 776 hp (579 kW). This is enough for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds.
Technological Equipment and Interior
All AUDI E5 Sportback models come standard with LiDAR, three millimeter-wave radars, 11 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars for an advanced driver assistance system.
The interior of the new electric car is dominated by a huge 59-inch screen that stretches across the entire width of the dashboard and includes displays for digital rearview mirrors. For Audi, the cabin is quite minimalist, finished in soft leather and Alcantara, and also has two wireless chargers for phones.
Prospects and Future Plans
Deliveries of the E5 Sportback are scheduled to begin next month. For now, the model remains an exclusive for China, although its combination of price, power, and technology could make it an attractive candidate for export if demand proves strong enough.
The arrival of the AUDI E5 Sportback marks an important step for the German brand in adapting to the Chinese market, where local manufacturers dominate the electric vehicle sector. The low price point combined with high performance could become a key competitive advantage, especially given the standard installation of advanced autonomous driving systems. The success of this model in China could determine Audi’s further global strategy for electrification and positioning in developing markets.
