Golden Tractor Catches US President’s Attention
US President Donald Trump recently hosted over 800 farmers at the White House. At this event dedicated to agriculture, the company Fendt presented a tractor completely wrapped in gold foil, which did not go unnoticed by the head of state.
It is known that Donald Trump has a particular fondness for gold. Over the past year, he has introduced a gold bank card, issued a commemorative gold coin with his image, and even announced the release of his own golden-colored smartphone.
Therefore, when a golden tractor appeared among other agricultural machinery during his speech on the South Lawn of the White House, it inevitably caught his attention. Seeing the machine from the podium, Trump looked genuinely intrigued and immediately focused on it.
“Beautiful tractor… golden tractor. Someone had me in mind. What does this all mean? You don’t mind if I go over and just look at this tractor for a second? Because I assume this is a gift for me,” Trump stated during his speech.
What is Known About This Unusual Tractor
It is the Fendt 1167 Vario MT model, which was first presented at an exhibition in early 2025. Since then, it has been traveling across the USA, having visited, in particular, the National Mall in Washington, before arriving on the White House grounds as part of the “Great American Celebration of Agriculture.”
This machine is the top model in the 1100 Vario MT series. It is equipped with a 16.2-liter 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel MAN engine with 673 horsepower. The torque is 3100 Nm, and power is transmitted through a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The tractor’s maximum speed is 40 km/h when moving forward.
The official price has not been disclosed; however, according to data from third-party sources, new tractors of this series can cost from 600 thousand to almost a million dollars.
Event Context and Purpose of the Golden Machine
The White House event celebrated 250 years of American agriculture. Trump called it “the largest gathering of American farmers the White House has ever seen.” During the event, the administration also launched a new website, OnlyFarms.gov, which redirects to the official White House website with information on measures to support the agricultural sector.
As for the tractor itself, the gold coating is not a gift for the president. It is part of a marketing campaign aimed at drawing attention to Fendt’s “Gold Star Customer Care” customer service program. This program includes a three-year warranty on all new tractors of the brand. Thus, the machine visited the White House lawn, but the keys will not be handed over to the president.
The golden tractor event clearly fit into the administration’s overall context aimed at publicly supporting farmers, who are an important part of the electorate. The presentation of new biofuel regulations and the ceremonial celebration of the country’s agricultural history, combined with such a bright visual attraction as a golden tractor, are guaranteed to generate media attention. This also demonstrates how major brands use political and social events to promote their products and service initiatives, finding unconventional ways to attract the gaze of even the highest officials.
