The car belongs to Diana from Poltava. Before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, she studied and worked in Kharkiv, but in the spring she had to evacuate to her hometown.

Diana realized that her former life was lost, and to stay in harmony with herself, she decided to set off on a summer trip around Europe in her 1989 Volga. Before starting, she repainted the vintage Soviet car by herself.

In the GAZ-24, the Ukrainian traveled thousands of kilometers and visited Hungary, Slovenia, Monaco, France, and Italy. Over three months, the Volga drove through Budapest, Nice, Milan, San Remo, and visited Provence and La Spezia.

After the trip, Diana decided not to stay abroad and returned to Ukraine, although acquaintances advised her to stay in Europe. She is willing to travel abroad but not live there, and she calls her favorite road not the European highways but the Poltava-Kharkiv route.

The car is simple, and maintaining it in working condition requires only minimal knowledge. Truck drivers helped repair the car on the road. Once, when the GAZ-24 broke down, Diana’s father sent a parcel with the necessary parts from Ukraine. The Ukrainian believes that her Volga truly has a soul, and such a journey would not have been possible with another car.
