Kimera, що прославилася рестомодами Lancia з чотирициліндровим двигуном, відмовиться від нього в наступних проєктах

Kimera Automobili has established itself as the pre-eminent Lancia restomodder thanks to models such as the EVO37 and EVO38. It has now previewed its latest creation, the K39, which debuts at the exclusive Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este at Lake Como next week.

The small Italian brand has been working on the K39 for more than two years. Indeed, the car was first previewed in mid-2024 with a series of ultra-realistic renderings. At the time, Kimera said the race car would compete at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb the following year, but that didn’t end up happening.

In a series of teasers shared to social media, Kimera now says the K39 will be ready for Pikes Peak next year. Not only that, but a slightly more restrained, street-legal version of the car will also be produced. Both will be presented at Lake Como.

The road-going model teased looks to be similar to the car previewed two years ago. We can see it’ll have a prominent front splitter, large air vents on the hood, and louvers above the front wheels. Visible at the rear is a large wing.

A Brand New Powertrain

Kimera’s Pikes Peak car will be even more radical. While the hood and front quarter panels appear the same, we can see it rocks a much larger splitter to boost downforce. Similarly, a prominent roof scoop is visible to help cool the engine, while a much larger wing, as on any Kimera product before the K39, is positioned at the rear.

No confirmation has been given as to what will power the K39, but it will not be the same 2.1-liter twin-charged four-cylinder of the EVO37. Instead, a teaser suggests it’ll be either a V6 or a V8, no doubt giving the car a healthy power boost, perfectly fitting for a car aiming to race to the clouds at Pikes Peak.
