На продаж виставили колекційне купе CTS-V.R, одне з трьох випущених екземплярів

This Cadillac CTS-V.R Coupe racer, one of just three ever built, is the type of car you’d expect GM to either hide away in storage for eternity or perhaps display in a museum. However, it’s actually up for sale, meaning that if you have the spare funds, you could own a Cadillac with some serious racing pedigree.

The racer was built through a partnership between GM and Pratt & Miller, created specifically for the Pirelli World Challenge GT Championship. While only eight months were spent developing it, that proved to be more than enough time for it to enjoy almost immediate success on the track.

Across the 2012, 2013, and 2014 seasons, drivers Johnny O’Connell and Andy Pilgrim claimed three Driver Championships with the CTS-V.R Coupe, in addition to winning the manufacturers’ title in 2012 and 2013.

This example, available from RaceCarsForYou, is number #3 and was raced by Jordan Taylor at several events during the 2012 and 2013 seasons, including one podium finish. The current owner acquired it directly from GM, and rather than storing it away in a garage, used it across five seasons of historic racing events, including more than 35 race weekends.

Currently, the race car is fitted with a naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter LS3 V8 used for less than five hours, and installed alongside an Xtrac transmission, also used for fewer than five hours. A full spares package is also included in the sale, including spare pieces of bodywork, multiple sets of wheels, spare brakes and suspension parts, and new subframes.

Opportunities to own a vehicle like this don’t come around often, so if you’re in the market for the ultimate track car, or simply want to own a V8-powered weapon that you can boast to your friends about, send through an inquiry before it’s too late. Importantly, you’ll need to be prepared to part ways with $249,000. Check out the listing over here.
