Japan is experiencing the impact of the most powerful typhoon in the last quarter-century. The disaster has already claimed 10 lives and left millions of families without electricity.
Typhoon Jebi was accompanied by heavy rains, which caused flooding and landslides. Surprisingly, Japan is experiencing intense heat at the same time.
The west of Japan suffered the most from the typhoon. Numerous bridges were destroyed, and strong winds literally scattered cars and even stranded vessels ashore. Additionally, due to a short circuit, several hundred cars burned in a parking lot.
The main airport of the Kansai province, situated on an artificial island, has been flooded. More than 3000 passengers were unable to fly out of Japan.
